We went away for a weekend skiing with a friend of Scott's from work and a group of her friends. We were lucky with the snow and the weather. It had snowed all week and the sun came out for our arrival. Apparently the snow isn't normally this good. But skiing in Australia was much better than I thought it would be. More and longer runs than I expected. It was very pretty too. The photo above is the lodge we stayed in taken from the ski run going past the back. We put Hugo is childcare for an afternoon (he wasn't that impressed) and I had two hours of skiing with Scott. We took a wrong turn off a run and ended up by this pretty stream. Daisy had a great time in ski school on Saturday with her new friend Georgie and spent Sunday morning skiing with Scott. Her progress was amazing.
The end of the holiday. Sunday lunchtime and Daisy and Georgie made a snowman outside the lodge.
It's finished - almost. The shower screen should be here next week and we need to get the mirror, do a bit of painting and sort out some grout issues. The heated towel rail is fab, we've got dry towels at last and it does a good job of heating the room. There will be a mirror in the space to the left of the window, running along the whole wall.
We've discovered that it's only 5km to the zoo from our house by cycle track. So on a beautiful sunny, wintery day a couple of weeks ago, Scott and Daisy cycled... while Hugo and I walked. Here's the early morning view of the Merri near our house as we set off.
Here's the latest pics of the bathroom. Daisy has been helping. She particularly enjoyed grouting. More than we did. After tiling the floor, we gave up and got someone in to tile the walls. The toilet etc go in tomorrow, so it will be finished, apart from the shower screen - yippee
Daisy has been practising balancing using her scooter in preparation for learning to ride without her training wheels. She had a go on Sunday and mastered it straightaway. Here she is a few days later.
